Understanding Sub Floor Ventilation.
Subfloor ventilation is a unique ventilation system that is designed to remove damp air and moisture from inside your household and sub floor space. The system transfers dry air from outside the house into your sub floor area. Most systems also have the opposite effect happening at the same time, meaning moist air is being transferred from your sub floor to an external vent outside. An under floor ventilation system is installed between the flooring of your home and the soil. Most Systems are inline ducted fans similar to a ducted air conditioning system (without the high power consumption). The fans are quiet and run on timers which are a important part of the strategy when try to maintain a dry sub floor. Other terms used to refer to this type of service is under floor ventilation or under house ventilation.

The negative pressure subfloor ventilation system removes the moisture out of the subfloor. In order for the system to work it will require natural air vents to allow fresh enter the sub floor. If your existing vents are not sufficient extra ventilation grills are installed around the home.
Balanced Pressure
A popular choice is a positive and negative sub floor ventilation system also known as a balanced air pressure system. These systems have one fan drawing air out of the sub floor while the second fan is bringing in fresh air. The air circulation keeps the sub floor very dry and works effectively in larger sub floor spaces.
Positive Pressure
A positive pressure system forces air from outside directly into the sub floor or void. These systems do not remove bad smells but are very effective when trying to dry a particular area. Most methods are effective although choosing the right method will give you the best results.
